CPA. Benedict Atavachi

Ag. Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Benedict Atavachi is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund. He holds an MBA (Finance option) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounts) from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant, CPA (K) and has attended numerous short courses in finance, accounting, risk management, leadership and corporate governance. Mr. Atavachi has over 20 years’ experience in accounts and financial management. He previously worked at the Kenya Utalii College.

MS. JUDY CHELANG’A KIMETO, Lending and Investment Manager

Manager, Product Development

Ms. Kimeto oversees lending, the core programme of the Fund. She holds Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as well as an MBA. She is currently pursuing professional courses in finance and accounts. She has also attended numerous courses in credit management and in general management. She has extensive experience in micro finance, including group preparation, lending and recovery. She is also a qualified trainer of trainers (TOT), and an expert in portfolio management. Before joining the Fund, Judy was a unit manager at the Kenya Women Finance Trust.

Mr. Benson Muthendi - Corporate Communications Manager

Corporate Communications Manager

Mr. Muthendi is a co-founder of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), established in 2007.  He possesses extensive expertise in youth development, community engagement, and outreach, holding his current position since August 2008.  His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Education from Moi University, Diplomas in Public Relations and Management, and a Certificate in Communication and Learning Technologies from Aharon Ofri, Israel.  He is currently completing a Master’s degree in Rural Sociology and Community Development. 

Mr. Muthendi’s professional experience encompasses leadership roles such as Head of Communication and Training at the Kenya Institute of Education, where he also served as a radio and television program scriptwriter and producer.  He further contributed as the Communication and Community Mobilization Officer for the GOK/UNICEF ILFE project in Northern Kenya.  Mr. Muthendi’s commitment to youth development extends to volunteer work with several youth mentorship programs, including the St. John Ambulance Brigade and the President’s Award Kenya.

Mr. Dennis Bebora

Human Resource and Administration Manager

Mr. Bebora is a highly accomplished Human Resources (HR) professional and certified mediator with over ten years of experience in progressively senior roles.  He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management, and a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, complemented by extensive professional development in HR and public administration.

Joining YEDF in December 2024 as Human Resource and Administration Manager, Mr. Bebora brings a proven track record of success in leading HR teams to develop and implement impactful policies, programs, and strategies.  His expertise includes cultivating a positive and responsive employee-centric work environment and providing strategic leadership.  His previous experience encompasses senior positions at the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme, Kenya Ferry Services, Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd, and AMREF Kenya.

CPA. Pius Mwaniki

Ag. Manager Finance and Accounts

Holds a Master of Science in Finance, a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA (K)) and a Certified Secretary (CSK). Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management, a Diploma in Supplies Management, and a Diploma in Business Administration (KNEC). A Member of (ICPAK).
