Nairobi, Friday June 21 President Uhuru Kenyatta has praised the Youth Enterprise Development Fund for its work in supporting young entrepreneurs and pledged more support to the youth sector. He said that the government will open more doors for youth to export to the East African and international markets.
President Kenyatta also challenged the Fund’s management to continue playing an active role in pushing the youth agenda. He was speaking when he visited the Youth Fund stand during the National Exporters Forum held at KICC earlier today. The forum was organized by the Export Promotion Council.

The president was impressed by two youth exhibitors at the stand. One of the exhibitors, Meryl Ojijo builds furniture using water hyacinth. She has recently completed her studies at the University of Nairobi. The president took opportunity to sit on one of the seats made by Meryl and said that such youth should be helped to commercialize their ideas.
The second exhibitor is Mr. Samuel Kagoma, who runs Zuhura Care, a cream manufacturing firm. He was financed by the Fund, which also sponsored him to exhibit in an international fair in Dar es Saalam, linking him to the export market.
