45 Youth Undertake Pre-Departure Training

The Youth Fund has carried out a pre-departure training for 45 youth who have secured jobs in Qatar and Bahrain. The youth will take up jobs as electricians, drivers and security guards for a renewable contract period of two years. The training was conducted in partnership with the recruiting agency Elmavale. The topics covered included culture adaptation, employment contract and contract review, banking and money management, Consular and Embassies services, developing positive attitude towards work among others.

The Youth Fund through its Youth Employment Scheme Abroad (YESA) mandate seeks to facilitate export of skills of young people not currently employed locally but required abroad. The Fund works closely with accredited recruiting agencies and relevant government ministries to market skills, facilitate pre-departure training and provide migration loans. Since inception the Fund has facilitated over 20, 000 youth access jobs in the international market.
