Youth Fund CEO Has Urged Youth To Take Up Loans From The Fund

Youth Fund CEO Has Urged Youth To Take Up Loans From The Fund

Youth Fund CEO Josiah Moriasi has urged youth to take up loans from the fund to start and expand businesses in order to gain economic independence. He was concerned at the low uptake of loans despite availability of funds. He said that the government had set aside these funds specifically for youth in recognition of their role in the economic development of the country.

Mr. Moriasi acknowledged that youth in the rural areas were not accessing these funds due to lack of information. " it is for this reason that the fund has launched a comprehensive sensitization program that will ensure that this information reaches youth at the grassroot" he said. He encouraged those who have borrowed to use the money for the intended purpose and repay so that other youth can borrow.

Mr. Moriasi was speaking today at Bunyunyu Market, North Mugirango Constituency during the #Hudumamashinani sensitization forum. Other speakers at the forum included the CEO of Women Enterprise Fund Charles Mwirigi, CEO of Uwezo Fund Joseph Kirubi, CEO of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund Ms. Magdalene Kipkenei and Mr. Mabea representing the Director General for the National Youth Service
