Youth Fund Board Appoints New CEO

Josiah Moriasi Arabu is the new Youth Enterprise Development Fund Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Moriasi’s appointment by the YEDF Board of Directors concludes an intensive four-month recruitment process.

Announcing the appointment, YEDF Board Chairman Ronald Osumba said the Board was confident that Mr. Arabu had the prerequisite experience to serve the Fund and Kenyan youth.

“As a Board, we are pleased to finally conclude the recruitment process and are happy to announce Mr. Moriasi as the new YEDF CEO. I would like to thank the selection panel as appointed by the Board for working selflessly and diligently,” he said.

Mr. Moriasi holds a Bachelor of Education and Human Resources degree from Egerton University, an MBA in Management and Finance from Kenyatta University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration, Management and Finance at JKUAT.

“Mr. Arabu has undergone extensive capacity building and proficiency in corporate governance, performance management, human relations and development, change management, investment, project monitoring and evaluation, pension scheme management, guidance and counseling, democracy and governance, and corporate leadership, qualities that will serve him well in his functions as the Youth Fund CEO.”

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Arabu worked for 7 years with the Lake Victoria South Water Services Board in various capacities and most recently as the Chief Manager Corporate Planning. He has also served at the Kenya Institute of Bankers and as a lecturer at various institutions of higher learning.

Mr. Arabu assumes office from 1st November, 2016 and has signed a three-year contract.
