The Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) has launched a 100 days Rapid Result Initiative (RRI) which will see it improve service delivery and undertake a series of high impact activities that will deliver tangible results for youth entrepreneurs across the country. The 100 days Rapid Result Initiative will focus on four key areas; Products & services, Processes, Partnerships and People.
According to the Fund’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Ronald Osumba, the RRI will initiate change for efficiency, responsiveness and impact. “It will see the Fund reengineer its existing products and introduce impactful, demand driven products with focus on the value chain” he said. He committed that the Fund shall involve youth in the design of these new products in order to fully meet their relevant needs. Successful implementation of the RRI will see the Fund raise loan uptake from the current Kshs. 20Million a month to Kshs. 60 Million and support 50,000 young entrepreneurs access new and existing business opportunities through capacity building, market support and negotiated supply contracts.
The Youth Fund also relaunched its revamped website; www.youthfund.go.ke. The fully featured website will provide quick and easy access to information on opportunities available for young entrepreneurs at the Fund. It will provide an avenue for the Fund to directly interact with its stakeholders, receive feedback and improve on service delivery.
The RRI and Website were launched at a function held today 17 th August at the Intercontinental Hotel. The event was also attended by the Fund’s newly appointed Board of Directors and Senior Management team. The Board of Directors present included; Caroline Amondi Oloo, Suleiman Abdi Noor Ali, Julie Waweru, Benson Mutemi and Faith Kibet.
