The Youth Fund Board chairman Ronald Osumba has encouraged young people to apply for business loans from the fund because requirements to qualify have been made more flexible. “Requirements to access business loans are now easier and I wish to encourage you to take them up in order to gain economic independence” , he said.
Mr. Osumba said that the fund was offering a variety of loan products including LPO financing to enable youth participate in government procurement opportunities through AGPO. “We are also in the process of diversifying our loan products to benefit those in the creative industry. In addition, the fund is customizing its loan products so as to enable youth tap into business opportunities available in their respective counties", he said.
Mr. Osumba was speaking at Mkwajuni Motel grounds in Kilifi North constituency during a forum to sensitize youth and women on opportunities available in government for economic development.
The forum was also graced by leaders including Senator Beth Mugo, area Member of Parliament Gideon Mng'aro and other business leaders. They urged youth and women to take initiative to access government opportunities by visiting offices of the affirmative funds which are available in constituencies country wide.
